Other hiking routes diverge away from the lake, so your walk can be as long, or as short as you like.
It is about a 30 minute walk from the centre of Kitzbühel.
A beautiful black lake with huge fish,don't know whether they are carp or pike. Surrounded by huge mountains and very cute alpen lodges. There are kids water slides, the adults can just jump into the water from the many jetties. Serviced by cafes which offer a variety of food and drink.This place gets very busy when the sun is out and extremely popular for sunbathing. Not to far from kitzbuhel and I would recommend the shortcut through the town, very well signposted
Absolutely worth the walk from town to come and experience this awesome view with the lake and mountains in the background. We’ll worth it to visit one of the café‘s or restaurants or even for sunbathing. A walk around will reward you with a bit of the forest. You will also see a lot of artwork and info on the environment along the way. Take the chance to take a few photo’s yourself at the Kitzbühel frame!
Lovely lake with great views of the mountains. Lakeside walking, swimming and boating. Pedal and electric boats for hire.
Pretty restaurant on the Lakeside. The choice of ice cream is quite big and they're very good. I recommend meringue glacée, it is made of ice cream, meringue and double cream from Gruyère..

I was on the paddle board and some guests from the restaurant came into the water with 2 horses! Not just that they let the horses dump a nr2 in the water just where all people are swimming ! A local farmer on the terrace had also a big mouth to me as I asked to clean it up!
But the restaurant takes no lead in keeping the lovely lake clean!
